Ingredients:

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  2. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are golden brown.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and green chilies. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the cubed potatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the potatoes with the spices.
  5. Cover the pan and cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender.
  6. Once the potatoes are cooked, sprinkle garam masala and lemon juice over the top. Mix gently.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
