Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add chicken breasts and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. Let it rest and then slice it thinly.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the herbs and gradually add warm water and olive oil. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into small rounds. Flatten them slightly and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the bread rounds for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Assemble by placing the grilled chicken slices between two pieces of the freshly baked bread.
