Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 package fresh or frozen ravioli (about 12 ounces, cheese or mushroom filling)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 8-10 fresh sage leaves
  • Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef, cooking until browned. Stir in the chopped mushrooms, salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until mushrooms are tender. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Fill each ravioli with a spoonful of the beef and mushroom mixture, sealing edges tightly. If using fresh ravioli, ensure they are cooked according to package instructions. For frozen, thaw them before cooking.
  4. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook ravioli according to package instructions until they float to the surface. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add sage leaves and cook until the butter turns golden brown and the sage becomes crispy.
  6. Toss the cooked ravioli in the sage butter, ensuring they are well-coated.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
