Ingredients:

  • 1 lb sockeye salmon fillet
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Rub the brown sugar mixture generously over the salmon fillet, ensuring it is well-coated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, maple syrup, olive oil, and lemon juice until smooth.
  5. Place the salmon fillet on a lined baking sheet and drizzle half of the maple mustard glaze over the top.
  6. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  7. In the last 2 minutes of baking, brush the remaining glaze over the salmon for extra flavor.
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for a couple of minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
