Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 6 slices of thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup bubble gum syrup
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh chives for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into circles to fit into a muffin tin.
  3. Press the pastry circles into the muffin tin and prick the bottoms with a fork to prevent puffing.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, then crumble it into pieces.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, eggs, bubble gum syrup, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  6. Evenly distribute the crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese into each pastry shell.
  7. Pour the cream mixture over the bacon and cheese, filling each shell about 3/4 full.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the tarts are golden brown and set.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before garnishing with fresh chives.
