Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun spice mix
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups passata
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 12 oz tagliatelle pasta
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, half of the chopped onion, garlic, egg, Cajun spice mix, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Pour in the passata and bring to a simmer. Add the heavy cream and stir until well combined and heated through.
  6. Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  7. Meanwhile, cook the tagliatelle according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  8. Serve the meatballs and creamy passata sauce over the tagliatelle, garnished with fresh parsley.
