Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, seasoning with salt, pepper, oregano, and paprika.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom. Sprinkle with half of the cheese, then add the beef mixture evenly on top.
  5. Layer the remaining potatoes over the beef, pour the beef broth over the top, and finish with the remaining cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
