Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 bag (30 oz) shredded frozen potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in paprika, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded frozen potatoes, sour cream, and milk. Mix well.
  6. In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the potato mixture on the bottom.
  7. Spread the cooked ground beef mixture over the potatoes, then top with the remaining potato mixture.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
