Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in paprika, thyme, and frozen peas. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until peas are heated through.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer the beef mixture evenly, followed by a layer of the mashed potatoes. Spread the sour cream on top, then sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
