Ingredients:

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are translucent.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are browned and tender.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the beef strips to the skillet. Sauté until the beef is browned on all sides.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream. Mix until well combined and heated through. Do not boil.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
