Classic Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and cook until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are soft and browned.
  5. Stir in the flour and cook for an additional minute, then gradually add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream. Return the beef to the skillet and heat through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.
