Ingredients:

  • 4 cups stale bread, cubed
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup double cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the double cream, milk, eggs, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Add the cubed bread to the bowl and stir gently until the bread is soaked in the mixture.
  5. Fold in the crispy bacon and half of the grated parmesan cheese.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and sprinkle the remaining parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
