Ingredients:

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  5. Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are softened.
  6. Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, then add Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Combine the cooked pasta with the beef and mushroom mixture, then transfer to a greased baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
