Creamy Beef and Mushroom Potato Bake

This comforting and hearty dish combines seasoned ground beef, earthy mushrooms, and tender potatoes, all enveloped in a rich cooking cream sauce. Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cooking cream
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional for topping)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the sliced mushrooms, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the mushrooms are soft and the mixture is well combined.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom. Spread half of the beef and mushroom mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Pour half of the cooking cream over the beef mixture. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and cooking cream.
  7. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
