Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet, cooking until the mushrooms are tender and have released their moisture, about 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to combine, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Gradually pour in the heavy cream and milk, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning the creamy mushroom sauce over the top. Simmer for another 5 minutes to heat through.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.
