Ingredients:

  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or pappardelle)
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground pork. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Stir to combine, then add the reserved pasta water as needed to achieve your desired sauce consistency.
  6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the creamy sauce. Mix in the fresh herbs just before serving for a burst of flavor.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan and herbs if desired.
