Ingredients:

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, sautéed onions and garlic, drained tuna, milk, shredded cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese, then sprinkle over the pasta mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.
