Ingredients:

  • 1 large head of green cabbage
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and blanch the whole head in the boiling water for 2-3 minutes until softened. Remove and let cool.
  2. In a skillet, sauté the chopped onion and garlic until translucent. In a bowl, combine ground pork, cooked rice, sautéed onion and garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Once the cabbage is cool, gently peel off individual leaves. Place a generous tablespoon of the filling at the base of each leaf, fold in the sides, and roll up tightly.
  4. In a large pot, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on the bottom. Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the pot. Pour the remaining tomato sauce and vegetable broth over the rolls.
  5. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 1 hour, until the cabbage is tender and the filling is cooked through.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.
