Ingredients:

  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 lbs)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, rosemary, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper to create a herb paste.
  3. Rub the herb paste all over the turkey, including under the skin for maximum flavor.
  4. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan. Pour chicken broth into the pan.
  5. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, honey, and orange zest. Cook over medium heat until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
  6. Brush the cranberry-orange glaze over the turkey, reserving some for basting.
  7. Roast the turkey in the preheated oven, basting every 30 minutes with the reserved glaze, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), about 3 to 4 hours.
  8. Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving. Serve with remaining glaze on the side.
