Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds boneless pork spare ribs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  3. Place the boneless pork spare ribs in a large baking dish and pour the honey garlic mixture over them, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
  5. If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the ribs and pour the remaining sauce into a saucepan. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, and add to the sauce over medium heat. Stir until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Return the ribs to the baking dish, coat with the thickened sauce, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
