Ingredients:

  • 6 strips of bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium head of green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet or wok, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pan.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
  4. Return the crispy bacon to the skillet and drizzle with sesame oil and soy sauce. Toss everything together to combine well.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
