Ingredients:

  • IKEA meatballs
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup of toum (garlic sauce)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pasta of choice (spaghetti or penne recommended)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the tomato sauce to the skillet, followed by the dried oregano and red pepper flakes. Stir well and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. In a separate pan, cook the IKEA meatballs according to package instructions until heated through.
  5. Once the sauce has thickened slightly, add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  6. Plate the pasta and top with the meatballs.
  7. Drizzle with toum and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately.
