Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Montmorency cherry jelly (from concentrate)
  • 1 pre-made tart shell (or homemade using flour, butter, and sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Fresh cherries for garnish (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using a homemade tart shell, prepare it by mixing flour, butter, and sugar until crumbly, then press it into a tart pan and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Allow to cool.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the Montmorency cherry jelly, almond extract, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
