Ingredients:

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 1 lb ground hamburger
  • 1 jar (24 oz) pizza sauce
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and red bell pepper, sautéing until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 3 minutes until they are tender.
  5. Add the ground hamburger to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the meat is browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
  6. Stir in the pizza sauce and cooked pasta until well combined.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
