Ingredients:

  • 8 slices pumpernickel bread
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 small raw onion, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter with chopped chives, parsley, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  2. Spread a generous layer of the herb butter on one side of each slice of pumpernickel bread.
