Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped parsley.
  5. Pour in the buttermilk and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Using a spoon or an ice cream scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  8. While the biscuits are baking, mix the melted butter with garlic salt.
  9. Remove the biscuits from the oven and brush the garlic butter mixture over the tops while they are still warm.
