Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the skillet.
  2. Add olive oil to the skillet and increase the heat to medium-high. Add the halved Brussels sprouts, cut side down, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they start to caramelize.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Return the cooked bacon to the skillet, and drizzle the balsamic glaze over the Brussels sprouts. Toss to combine and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Remove from heat and finish with a squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
