Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of crusty bread (such as ciabatta or baguette)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the top off the loaf of bread and hollow out the inside, leaving about an inch of bread on the sides and bottom.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mozzarella, ricotta, and Parmesan cheeses. Add the chopped herbs, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil inside the hollowed bread and then fill it with the cheese mixture, pressing down gently to pack it in.
  5. Brush the top of the bread with the beaten egg to give it a nice golden color while baking.
  6. Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.
