Ingredients:

  • 4 cube steaks
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, and black pepper. Dredge each cube steak in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the cube steaks and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add diced onion and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until mushrooms are tender and onions are translucent.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, thyme, and rosemary. Return the cube steaks to the skillet and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the steaks are cooked through and the gravy thickens.
  7. Serve the cube steaks with the mushroom gravy over creamy mashed potatoes, garnished with chopped parsley.
