Ingredients:

  • 1 lb minced beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  3. Add the minced beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and smoked paprika.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom. Pour half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, then repeat with the remaining potatoes and beef.
  5. Pour the beef broth evenly over the layers.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.
