Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 1 lb pork shoulder, diced
  • 1 can (15 oz) navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 medium potatoes, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the fat in the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add the ground chuck and diced pork shoulder. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Add the chopped onion and celery to the skillet, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned meat mixture with the navy beans, green beans, and diced potatoes. Pour in the chicken broth and stir to combine.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with the cooked bacon pieces.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
