Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) sausage meat (pork or chicken)
  • 1 medium apple, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sausage meat, chopped apple, fresh sage, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to ensure it’s even and thin.
  4. Cut the pastry into rectangles, approximately 4x6 inches (10x15 cm).
  5. Place a generous amount of the sausage mixture along one edge of each pastry rectangle.
  6. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  7. Place the rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
