Ingredients:

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 4-6 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, creating a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the cooled simple syrup.
  3. Add the remaining 3 cups of water to the pitcher and stir well to combine.
  4. Muddle the fresh mint leaves in the bottom of the pitcher to release their flavor, then stir them into the lemonade.
  5. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and additional mint leaves.
