Ingredients:

  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon powdered smoke
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the tomato paste, honey, molasses, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Add the minced garlic and smoked paprika to the saucepan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour in the apple cider vinegar and lemon juice, mixing well to incorporate all ingredients.
  4. Sprinkle in the powdered smoke, ground cloves, and salt. Stir until fully combined.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. The sauce should thicken slightly.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary, adding more salt or sweetness according to your preference.
  7. Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to a jar or airtight container.
