  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
  4. In an oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in the ketchup and mix well to combine. Place the chicken breasts back in the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  8. Remove from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes, and serve with the garlic-onion sauce spooned over the chicken.
