Ingredients:

  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup puffed rice
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soya sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add the diced potatoes and sauté for about 5 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Stir in turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes until the potatoes are fully cooked.
  5. Pour in the tomato sauce and soya sauce, mixing well. Let it simmer for 5 more minutes to blend the flavors.
  6. Add the puffed rice to the pan and gently fold it into the mixture, allowing it to soak up some flavors without becoming too soft.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring gently.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
