Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken pieces and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, then dip into the breadcrumbs, ensuring an even coating.
  5. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the nuggets in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  6. For the dipping sauce, mix mayonnaise, honey, and sriracha in a small bowl until smooth.
  7. Serve the spicy chicken nuggets hot with the dipping sauce on the side.
