Ingredients:

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb spicy Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same skillet, add the spicy Italian sausage. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Stir in the crispy bacon.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
