Ingredients:

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, baking powder, baking soda, chili powder, garam masala, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, and Himalayan salt.
  2. Add the finely chopped red onion, milk, melted butter, and soy sauce to the mixture. Stir until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small patties (about 2-3 inches in diameter).
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with oil or butter.
  5. Cook the potato cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. While the cakes are cooking, prepare the creamy tomato sauce by combining ketchup, lemon juice, and sugar in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until warmed through.
