Ingredients:

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, and cooked ground beef. Mix until well combined.
  5. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese and beef mixture and place them in the baking dish.
  7. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
