Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in warm milk. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining sugar, salt, oil, and honey. Add the frothy yeast mixture and stir well.
  3. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and shape it into small rolls. Place them on a greased baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  6. Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter if desired before serving.
