Ingredients:

  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 cups blackberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, blackberries, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Toss gently to coat the fruit evenly.
  3. Transfer the fruit mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  4. In another bowl, mix the flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt.
  5. Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the fruit mixture in the baking dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
