Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon banana essence
  • 2 cups water
  • a few drops of food coloring (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons gelatin powder
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 cups UHT milk

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 1/2 cup of cold water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the remaining 1.5 cups of water with sugar, cocoa powder, and cream of tartar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar and cocoa are fully dissolved.
  3. Once dissolved, remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
  4. Add the UHT milk and banana essence to the mixture, stirring well to combine. If using food coloring, add a few drops to achieve your desired color.
  5. Pour the mixture into a mold or individual serving cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  6. Once set, unmold or serve directly from the cups. Optionally, garnish with banana slices or whipped cream before serving.
