Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Toss the shrimp in half of the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are blackened and cooked through. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add asparagus and the remaining spice mixture. Sauté for about 5-6 minutes, until the asparagus is tender but still crisp.
  5. Return the shrimp to the skillet, add lemon juice, and toss everything together. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
