Ingredients:

  • 1 township quarter of bread
  • 2 boerewors sausages
  • 4 slices of polony
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a melty blend)
  • 1 cup potato chips
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill or pan over medium heat.
  2. Cook the boerewors sausages until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from heat and slice into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In the same pan, lightly toast the township quarter of bread on both sides until golden brown.
  4. Layer the bottom of the toasted bread with sliced polony, followed by the cooked boerewors pieces.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the boerewors and polony.
  6. Cover the stack with a lid or foil and allow the cheese to melt for about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Once melted, remove from heat and top with potato chips for added crunch.
  8. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  9. Serve immediately, cut into portions for easy handling.
