Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 4-6 tablespoons ice water
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Stir in ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Set aside.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  9. Remove from the oven and drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
