Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk (for icing)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together warmed milk, cooled espresso, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Once risen, roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 15x10 inches). Spread softened butter over the dough.
  6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough. Drizzle caramel sauce on top.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. While the rolls are baking, prepare the icing by whisking together powdered sugar and enough milk to achieve a drizzling consistency.
  10. Once the rolls are baked, allow them to cool slightly, then drizzle the icing over the top. Serve warm.
