Ingredients:

  • 2 racks of pork ribs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup cherry preserves
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill or oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the pork ribs.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine cherry preserves, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Stir until smooth and let simmer for about 10 minutes to thicken.
  4. Place the ribs on the grill or in a baking dish if using the oven. Brush with olive oil and cover with aluminum foil.
  5. Cook the ribs for about 2.5 to 3 hours until tender, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes.
  6. During the last 30 minutes, baste the ribs with the cherry barbecue sauce every 10 minutes.
  7. Once the ribs are cooked and caramelized, remove them from the heat and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve with additional cherry barbecue sauce on the side.
