Chocolate Caramel Swirl Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and granulated sugar, stirring until combined.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly, then whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. In another saucepan, combine the evaporated milk and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Then, drizzle half of the caramel mixture over the batter. Use a knife to swirl it together gently.
  7. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top, followed by the rest of the caramel. Swirl again lightly with a knife.
  8. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
