Ingredients:

  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 100g golden syrup
  • 2 teaspoons coffee powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 150g granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a square baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the chopped dark chocolate, unsalted butter, and golden syrup. Stir until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the coffee powder until well combined.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring until combined.
  6. Sift in the flour and salt, and gently fold until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve the chocolate coffee delight warm or at room temperature, topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
